British rockers Coldplay have confirmed that their fifth album will be titled Mylo Xyloto (dunno what that supposed to mean). The highly-anticipated record will hit shops on October 24, 2011. BIG YAY!
Coldplay has been my favorite band since a decade ago. Excited with the new things that they have come up with in the past 2 albums (X&Y and VIVA LA VIDA) but I have to say I fall in love (head over heels) with their first 2 albums. PARACHUTE and A RUSH OF BLOOD TO THE HEAD are just classic brit alternative rock albums filled with heartbreaking honest songs that always bring me back the feeling of being a helpless romantic or being a hopeful/hopeless person lost/found in this world (whatever that means to you).
I compile some of my favorite lyrics (not in any order) as my tribute to COLDPLAY
"Oh I'm gonna buy this place and start a fire
Stand here until I fill all your heart's desires
Because I'm gonna buy this place and see it burn
And do back the things it did to you in return
He said, "I'm gonna buy a gun and start a war
If you can tell me something worth fighting for
Oh and I'm gonna buy this place, that's what I said
Blame it upon a rush of blood to the head" (A Rush Of Blood To The Head)
"And we live in a beautiful world
Yeah we do, yeah we do
We live in a beautiful world
Oh, all that I know
There's nothing here to run from
Cause yeah, everybody here
Has got somebody to lean on" (Don't Panic)
"Look from earth from outer space
Everyone must find a place
Give me time and give me space
Give me real and don't give me fake
Give me strength, reserve control
Give me heart and give me soul
Give me love, give us a kiss
And tell me your own politik" (Politik)
"My heart is yours
It's you that I hold on to
That's what I do
I know I was wrong
I won't let you down
Oh yeah, yeah, yeah I will, yes I will" (Sparks)
"I was just guessing at numbers and figures
Pulling the puzzles apart
Questions of science, science and progress
Do not speak as loud as my heart
But tell me you love me, come back and haunt me
Oh and I rush to the start
Running in circles, chasing our tails
Coming back as we are" (The Scientist)
"Your skin, oh yeah, your skin and bones
Turn into something beautiful
D'you know? For you I bleed myself dry
For you I bleed myself dry" (Yellow)
Interpretation of My Thoughts
We may not be as happy as you always dreamed we would be, but for the first time let's just allow ourselves to be whatever it is that we are --- Garden State

Humility
Sometimes it just hits you out of the blue that you dont know what you have until it’s almost out of your grasp.
I started recollecting my fond memories of my grandma as soon as I found out that she had to check into hospital. Her HB went down way below normal, but luckily we caught it on time so she could get the treatment that she needed.
I wouldn’t say we have the best grandma-grand daughter relationship but there were definitely moments that I would always remember. And some of them were like living pictures in my mind.
It was May 1998, the darkest days in my country’s history. Almost all my family members gathered in Singapore as we were ones of those who were fortunate enough to escape unscathed from the riot. Around 20 people squeezed into this 3 bedroom apartment. My grandma was one of them. One night after dinner, we all sat down in circle in the living room. I didn’t know how the conversation started but I remember my grandma told us to take the positive thing out of what had just happened. That we should always be grateful of what have been given to us. The fact that we could all gather together in that living room was a blessing that not many people could have at that moment. This was also to remind us to always be humble regardless of what we have achieved. “Keep both of your feet on the ground and always remember where you came from.” Those were the words that until today still feel like she just whispered them on my ear. I was awed by the strength of a woman who at the time of crisis showed us that humility should be embraced and that we should have never taken things for granted.
And yes the thought of almost losing my grandma teach me to be humble and to remember my roots. We all live in this hectic crazy world that sometimes we forget what is important. I was humbled by the fact that what she has given me, I realize I havent given back much to her. And definitely humbled that I am still given the chance to at least give back a lil bit more... Thank you

Quotes
Just jotting down some interesting quotes I find today
"Relative Reality" These forms we see with our physical eyes we tend to appraise in various ways. Distinctions are fundamentally relative - ideas, judgment, and sensations are based on comparisons.
Beings think "I" at first and cling to self;
They thinks of "mine" and are attached to things
An attempt to fix in time and place that which is constantly changing. When we become fixed in our perceptions, we lose our ability to fly.

Boredom
It has been a longgg time since I have the chance to write a blog due to crazy work schedule and perhaps self-imposed laziness but guess what I'm writing my blog as of now in the office haha. a reason to celebrate really
to be honest i havent done any task related to work since 2 pm in the afternoon. I have browsed as many websites as I could ranging from:
- my fave topic sports (nba draft, wimbledon, summer football transfers)
- financial news (optimism over greece bail out, usd gaining strenght against idr temporarily)
- vacation places (tickets to taiwan is considerably cheap for traveling in august.. usd 500 inclusive of taxes, i paid triple of that when i used to be a student coming home each summer)
- property websites (trying to plan getting an apt for myself but after doing my own calculation it will take me forever to pay the installments haha)
- online store websites like kaskus, toko bagus, tokopedia.com (I'm starting to get more and more interested with e-commerce in indo, definitely has an upside potential and i'm giving it a try to sell an item there.. see how it goes.. i guess we do this alot in US but it was very convenient with PayPal and such. things are different here but we'll see)
ok i did lots of craps for 3 hours and 30 mins
now i'm gonna rewards myself with a window shopping trip to grand indo... it's jakarta great sale!

Valentine's Day
another valentine's day... day filled roses, hersheys and hallmarks.
got the best date tonight with rachael yamagata performing live at HardRock.
i was totally psyched that she finally came to my hometown. never thought she would come esp early this year. saw her cds displayed on the shelves of music stores. hope it sells well coz Happenstance is a must-have album and you would discover a talented artist like no other.
thanks rachael for making tonight not just for the couples to celebrate the valentine's but also for us, the singles, who are still hoping, waiting, looking, believing for someone out there.
rachael's message who just became single on this very day:
"Valentine's day is sort of like New Year's Eve, it never turns out to be what my fantasizing little self of 17 expects.. However I do find myself loving friendships, travel, music, creativity and hey if there can be a lil romance mixed in all the better. If you've got a cutie, go out and celebrate.. And if you don't.. Stay light and know that it's all on it's way.. Somehow.. Someday.. If I can do it, you can too!"

Dreams in bali
i dont know if i'm tired wh my present job or what.. but a thought came across when i was in bali to attend my mom's best friend's son's wedding.
i want to build a cafe wh a dog park attached next to it.
i'll be the barista grinding those roasted coffee beans and making those lattes.
then customers from the neighborhood would come arnd bringing their dogs.
they would unleash their dogs to play in the park. then they would order some coffee, sit down.. read newspapers or chit chat wh their friends
the sky is blue outside and i stand there in my counter.. in my coffee shop.. smiling
a nice dream to have while i was in bali :)

Raja Ampat
I just came across of this name few weeks back... and it's been haunting me ever since
Raja Ampat casts a spell on all who visit – scientists, photographers, novice divers and crusty sea-salts alike. This group of majestic islands, located in the northwestern tip of Indonesia’s Papuan, lies in the heart of the coral triangle, the most bio-diverse marine region on earth.
it's definitely in on my traveling list :)
